The talk will throw light on the manner in which classical Indian poetry has influenced the creative minds of the sculptors across timelines in the geography of greater India. At times, temple sculptures too have influenced poets from different periods. The presentation will juxtapose the auditory medium of poetry and the visual medium of sculpture and demonstrate how both themes from the epics and the purāṇas are depicted in the two media.
