Kuili Suganya

The School of Humanities is engaged in research in the broad areas of philosophy, psychology, literature, fine arts, and culture. Research in the School currently focuses on philosophical foundations of sciences; cognitive sciences; scientific and philosophical studies of consciousness; Indian psychology and philosophy; history and philosophy of biology; archaeometalurgy and analysis of ancient metals; and translations of literary classics in Kannada into English.
She has been working on the Iron Age-Early Historic (IA-EH) landscape in southern India since 2006, particularly examining burials of that period. She has also been exploring the perceptions and discourse on archaeology field work in India, as well as the participation of public in archaeology.
Her research has two inter-related facets: analyzing cultural landscapes using geospatial data to identify new features of archaeological interest, and advancing the usage of such analysis for preserving built heritage in the face of rapidly growing infrastructural development and urbanization.
His primary research interests are focused on prehistoric and early historic monumental architecture, as well as traditional knowledge systems, including astronomy.
